ENTRIES ARE OPEN! Autocross on Sunday 28 September

Entries are now open for the next Autocross on Sunday 28 September. Let me know (president@bormsa.asn.au) if you or one of your crew are able to help out with timing, flag points or starting and if you're keen to partake in the BBQ at lunch time.

As we've passed the half way point of the season, BORMSA 2014 memberships are now available at 50% off - so $25 for adults, $50 for family and $10 for juniors. If you've been thinking about having a go, why not enter the final BORMSA Autocross for the year!

BORMSA Autocross Results - Saturday 30 August

It was a wet and slippery Autocross at BORMSA with the rain in the 24 hours leading up to the event making the track surface "interesting"!! Congratulations to all competitors on their efforts, with only a few muddy extractions required (thanks to rescue crews Mark, Cam, Rob & Rex) and great fun was had by all.

Western Australia CAMS Motorsport Awards Night

Even though the BORMSA Club Champion presentations and AGM top the list, you may still wish to reserve a place in your Calendar for the Western Australian CAMS Motorsport Awards Night to be held at the Motor Museum at Whiteman Park on Wednesday 3 December 2014. Details and the ticket order form are attached. For any queries, please contact Fiona Roth at the CAMS WA office (Fiona.Roth@cams.com.au or (08) 9208 8501).

CAMS Illicit Drugs in Sport Policy

At this week’s CAMS State Council Meeting, a presentation was given on the CAMS Illicit Drugs in Sport (IDiS) program. As a CAMS-affiliated car club, this means that BORMSA is bound by the recently issued CAMS Illicit Drugs in Sport (Safety Testing) Policy. Essentially, this means that any BORMSA events in the future may be selected for drug testing of random competitors and officials. This policy will also apply to other events – particularly higher level competition such as rally – held under a CAMS permit in WA.

ENTRIES ARE OPEN! Autocross (Saturday 30 August) & Driver Development Day (Sunday 31 August)

Entries are now open for the next BORMSA Autocross to be held on Saturday 30 August. Take advantage of the upcoming break in the rally season and head to Beverley for some great racing and to check out our upgraded facilities.

Based on requests from members, we are also holding a Driver Development Day on the Sunday morning following the Autocross. Note that this event is for juniors and beginners to motorsport only. Entries are open for 12 years and above, but please read the Supp Regs carefully for junior competitor requirements.

Khanacross (KX) Results - Sunday 13 July 2014

Perfect weather conditions at Beverley on the weekend allowed a strong field of 23 entries to thoroughly enjoy the 13 khanacross tests on offer at BORMSA. Jason and Barry from WA Superlites took advantage of a break in their events to try out the BORMSA tracks with winning times. Tim Ralli showed he hadn't lost any of his KX skills by coming home as first traditional 2WD in the lancer, after battling all day with Pete Dixon's excel, which had an unfortunate clutch issue to end the day on the tow rope.

Junior Motorkhana (JMK) Results - Saturday 12 July 2014

Kieran Nevin showed some driving flair and took the win and a $20 BORMSA voucher at the Junior Motorkhana at BORMSA on Saturday. After re-checking the maths several times, it is confirmed that Alex Nevin (2nd) & Jacob Bruinsma (3rd) were split by only 0.65 seconds after 18 motorkhana tests were run!

Congratulations to all drivers on their efforts - particularly the Reversing Tee Slalom! Many thanks to the McNaughton & Nevin families for their assistance with the event.
